Fishing on Islay

Islay is well known by the fishing fraternity, especially since the 2009 Commonwealth finals were held on the island. There are several rivers and excellent lochs which offer the opportunity of Brown Trout and Salmon Fishing. Some of the lochs are easily accessible by car, others involve a good walk, with excellent possibilities of viewing the abundance of wildlife on the way.

We can, on request, provide details of ghillie services with full local knowledge of even the most remote lochs.

Please note that fishing is restricted and most parts of Islay require permits and/or approval which can be obtained from the estate offices on Islay.
